Agrobs Lucerne Cobs are suitable as concentrated feed for breeding, sport and young horses. The gentle drying and processing of the entire plant preserves nutrients and vitamins.
Lucerne - also known as alfalfa - is the oldest forage plant. The Persians were feeding alfalfa to their horses as early as 500 BC. Nowadays, alfalfa is often used as a structural supplement in various mueslis. Due to its excellent feed properties, such as high-quality protein, ß-carotene, minerals and vitamins, alfalfa also plays a central role in horse feed in its pure form.
Lucerne is an ideal concentrated feed, especially for sport, breeding and young horses. A considerable advantage of lucerne is that it does not burden the metabolism or digestive tract, as is the case with cereal feeds. Nevertheless, alfalfa provides sufficient energy.
The high calcium content can compensate for phosphorus-rich rations resulting from grain-rich feeding and thus rebalance the Ca:P ratio. Calcium is particularly important for healthy bone growth in young horses and can prevent bone damage in sport and performance horses.
