As a premium muesli, Senior Plus is easily digestible thanks to the hydrothermally digested cereal flakes and therefore provides plenty of energy so that horses with a slowed metabolism and digestion do not lose weight. The change of coat, which can often be a problem for older horses, is optimally supported by protein-rich ingredients such as linseed meal, brewer's yeast and pea flakes. Older horses (in warmbloods from around the age of 20) need 20 - 25 per cent more energy and protein than their younger comrades. Omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins and intestinal fibre are provided by linseed, carrot flakes and apple pomace. Seaweed extract covers the additional vitamin requirements of older horses (A, E, B complex and C).
