Product information "St. Hippolyt Ricelein Pellet 25kg"
St. Hippolyt RiceLein is a grain-free, low-glycaemic energy balancer for horses with digestive problems, muscle problems or metabolic disorders. RiceLein is used to enhance low-energy rations and is suitable as a combination with any basic feed. Readily available energy is provided by easily fermentable fibres and rice germ oils instead of starch sources. RiceLein is also suitable for horses with sensitive stomachs due to the stomach-protecting linseed it contains. Due to the low sugar and starch content, horses with muscle problems such as PSSM, tying-up and cross-docking as well as horses with PPID (Equine Cushing's Syndrome) also benefit from this product.
Energy supplier for special requirements:
For many horses, a low-sugar and low-starch diet is a prerequisite. The consumption of rations with a high starch content can not only trigger or exacerbate grain intolerances, a tendency to hyperacidity and stomach problems, but also muscle or metabolic problems. This includes polysaccharide storage myopathy type 1 (PSSM). PSSM is a disorder of carbohydrate metabolism caused by a genetic defect. The clinical appearance is very similar to that of cross-shock. The symptoms range from muscle tremors, reluctance to move, muscle stiffness, sweating, repeated irregularities in gait (without orthopaedic problems) to immobility. Horses affected by PSSM are dependent on adapted feeding and husbandry management, as otherwise they will be difficult or impossible to ride. A grain-free, low-starch and low-feed diet is absolutely essential. Fermentable fibre, combined with oilseeds and sprouted seeds, is an ideal supplement to the hay ration. A grain-free diet is also recommended for horses with digestive problems in order to minimise the impact on the gastrointestinal tract.
For feeding all heavy-fed horses:
RiceLein ensures a metabolism-friendly build-up for healthy horses that are dependent on an additional source of energy during hard training. Heavy-fed leisure and lean horses can be gently built up when RiceLein is combined with the existing ration. Lean, older horses with metabolic disorders such as PPID (= Pituitary pars intermedia dysfunction, formerly Equine Cushing's syndrome) benefit from RiceLein thanks to its easily digestible components, which provide an additional low-starch source of energy.
