Product information "St. Hippolyt Robusan Darmriegel 1,12kg (28x40g)"
St. Hippolyt Robusan Intestinal Bar is an efficient and natural solution for intestinal problems such as persistent faecal water and irritated intestines.
Watery faeces - a problem with many causes
Free faecal water is a particular problem for both horse and owner. There are many different causes, such as bacterial and viral pathogens, untreated infections with intestinal parasites, but also jaw and dental problems can cause free faecal water. Factors such as social status, stress management, psychological stress or allergies (e.g. feed allergy) should also not be ignored as triggers in connection with faecal water. Especially in the autumn and winter months when switching from pasture to hay feeding, horses react more sensitively to pre-polluted forage and concentrates with faecal water or diarrhoea. Not only forage, but also bedding can be contaminated with dangerous bacteria or fungi due to incorrect fermentation or incorrect storage. Toxic metabolites (e.g. mycotoxins, biogenic amines) are products of these organisms. As they are broken down by the liver, the liver is under great strain, which can lead to serious consequences for the digestive and detoxification metabolism over time. For this reason, intestinal inflammation and liver problems often occur together. Due to the complex relationship between the problem of faecal water, the administration of medicinal charcoal, psyllium or clay minerals, among other things, only leads to satisfactory results in a few cases. This complexity has been taken into account in the composition of the individual components in St. Hippolyt Robusan Intestinal Bar.
Bioactive substances from plants
The combined knowledge of three decades of experience in the beneficial effects of herbs and spices has been brought together in St. Hippolyt Robusan Intestinal Bars. There are numerous scientific results and publications on this subject and the products based on this research are now leaders in animal nutrition. The result is the new Robusan herbal bar from St. Hippolyt. A physiological intestinal flora is promoted by the interaction of more than 100 bioactive components and also systematically stimulates digestion and metabolism. Carefully selected herbs and spices can have a supportive effect in the event of stomach upset, faecal water and digestive complaints, and nervous strength is also promoted in the event of nervousness and restlessness. The tannins contained "impregnate" the intestinal mucosa and thus make it more difficult for pathogenic germs to adhere. Thanks to its digestive, relaxing and calming properties, the complex composition offers your horse a holistic approach for a balanced microbiome.
Health-promoting herbs and spices
The beneficial effects of herbs and spices have been known to mankind since ancient times. The variety of bioactive ingredients (plant secondary metabolites) makes a health-promoting and supportive contribution to the nutrition of humans and animals. In addition, plant secondary metabolites stimulate the body's own defences in the fight against parasites and support, regenerate and maintain the immune system, detoxification organs and intestinal flora after a conventional worming treatment. Nature offers a wide range of herbs and spices. The challenge is to find the right selection and the optimum dosage according to the symptoms.
The treasure chest of nature
Irregularities in the digestive tract can have a wide variety of causes such as stress, intolerances and infections. This can manifest itself in a variety of ways (e.g. diarrhoea, stomach cramps, irritable bowel syndrome). Plants and herbs with a high content of tannins and bitter substances in particular can provide gentle support. The use of fennel and caraway has proven effective for gastrointestinal complaints. The secondary plant substances they contain can have a relaxing effect on the intestinal muscles and have an anti-inflammatory effect. It also stimulates the secretion of saliva and digestive juices and supports the metabolisation of food. Galangal is known for its stomach-strengthening, digestion-stimulating and antispasmodic effects. Oak bark (Quercus, formerly known as Cortex Quercus) is also suitable in the right dosage for non-specific, acute diarrhoea. The complex vegetable tanning agents (tannins) contained in oak bark, among other things, have surface tension-altering properties and thus make it more difficult for harmful bacteria to adhere to the intestinal mucosa.
Terpenes are responsible for the soothing and relaxing odour of moss, resin and conifers. These secondary ingredients serve as a communication signal for the plant and are responsible for the diverse flavours and fragrances in the plant world and are produced in the leaves, bark and roots of plants. Today, over 8000 different terpenes are known. Then as now, terpenes are said to have a variety of beneficial properties. For example, pinene is said to relieve muscle cramps and reduce a feeling of fullness, fenchone promotes gastrointestinal peristalsis and myristicin aids digestion and relieves cramps.
In addition to their function as a flower pigment, flavonoids also play an important role in plant defence (parasites, pathogens). Many of the known flavonoids (~8000) are said to have an antioxidant, circulation-promoting and anti-inflammatory effect. Flavonoids are also said to have vitalising and mood-enhancing properties and have an antispasmodic effect on gastrointestinal complaints. The comprehensive range of supporting herbs and plants in Robusan Darmriegel comprises several hundred individual substances and a complete list would go beyond the scope of this brief information. Therefore, only a few groups of active ingredients are mentioned here as examples to give you a small insight into the beneficial power of Mother Nature.
