The horse, a steppe animal, has become man’s faithful companion. Consequently, the way horses are kept and fed has also changed, which unfortunately does not always have a positive effect on their health. Nowadays, horses are often fed a diet that is too high in energy. High proportions of cereals are accompanied by a low intake of crude fibre and essential nutrients. AlpenGrün muesli helps.
AlpenGrün Muesli is a cereal- and molasses-free muesli designed for a natural and species-appropriate diet for horses. Its carefully selected composition, featuring a highly digestible texture combined with root vegetables, fruit, leaves and flowers, enhances the quality of the feed.
For AGROBS’ AlpenGrün Muesli, grasses and herbs from species-rich meadows are mown at the optimum harvest time and then gently dried with warm air. This preserves the fibre structure. AlpenGrün Muesli therefore not only ensures an optimal supply of crude fibre; its texture also encourages chewing and supports gut health. Marigold blossoms, raspberry and blackberry leaves, and rose hips provide a wealth of natural nutrients. Sunflower seeds, linseeds and black cumin serve as a source of essential fatty acids: the mucilage they contain also aids digestion.
With AlpenGrün Muesli, horse owners consciously avoid using cereals, bran and molasses. In doing so, they also make a healthy contribution to their horse’s feed ration. Thanks to its low starch and sugar content, AlpenGrün Muesli is also suitable for sensitive horses and those with metabolic sensitivities.

Depending on the type of horse and its performance level
- as the sole concentrated feed: approx. 100–500 g daily per 100 kg of target body weight
- as a supplement to conventional feed: 1 kg of AlpenGrün Muesli replaces approx. 1 kg of grain

AGROBS recommends: introduce the feed gradually. Where necessary – during a change of diet, for horses that eat too quickly, older horses, horses with dental problems, or those with low water intake – we advise moistening or soaking the feed.
Please note that AlpenGrün Muesli is not suitable for older horses or horses with dental problems; for horses with limited chewing ability in particular, we recommend AlpenGrün Senior Muesli.
