Green oats (hot-air dried, chopped)
Product information "Agrobs Grünhafer 15kg"
Horses with sensitive metabolisms or digestive systems, as well as those that are easily overfed, benefit from a grain-free diet. Conventional oats are usually too high in starch and energy for the needs of these horses. This is where AGROBS® GREEN OATS, grown in Bavaria, comes in: it embodies the gentle power of the oat plant. As a low-starch, high-crude-fibre roughage, it is a tasty alternative to traditional cereals and a suitable choice even for sensitive horses.
How green oats differ from oats
Unlike oats, green oats do not use the mature grain, but rather the whole, young and still green oat plant. The key factor here is the time of harvest: for green oats, the plant is harvested much earlier – after flowering and before starch is stored in the grain. When it comes to feeding, therefore, it is the part of the plant used that makes the difference. Although oats are classified as a cereal, botanically they belong to the grass family – just like our meadow grasses. When used whole, the oat plant also produces a feed rich in crude fibre. Green oats differ significantly from oats in this respect: they are lower in starch and moderate in energy content.
A versatile, textural feed for sensitive horses
AGROBS® green oats can be integrated into the feeding plan in a variety of ways: as a high-fibre component, it can supplement or replace concentrated feed. The palatable fibres add variety to the feed trough and encourage chewing. In this way, green oats can slow down feed intake and promote saliva production. Thanks to its low starch and fructan content, it is also suitable for sensitive horses.Whether for leisure horses or competition horses – AGROBS® Green Oats delivers the gentle power of the oat plant in a high-fibre form. Versatile in use, it enriches the daily ration with valuable fibre and natural flavour.
