Agrobs Maiscobs consist of the entire maize plant, i.e. stalks, leaves and cobs. Nervous and temperamental horses also benefit from these cobs.
The feeding of high-performance sport horses and heavy-feeding horses is particularly demanding. With limited feed intake capacity, it is difficult to ensure a performance-oriented supply of energy with a sufficiently high amount of crude fibre. The use of forage with a high energy density is therefore an essential prerequisite for healthy feeding.
By using the whole maize plant (stalks, leaves, cobs), it can be ensured that the horse receives sufficient crude fibre in addition to energy and that the metabolism is not burdened by too much starch. The plants are harvested at the right time, chopped and dried immediately in a modern hot-air drying plant. This gentle preservation process prevents nutrient-consuming fermentation and results in a product with a high energy density.
The maize cobs have a high crude fibre content combined with a high energy density and low protein content (3.97 % digestible crude protein). This results in a slow and steady release of energy in the large intestine. This is particularly beneficial for horses that have to perform endurance work, such as endurance, eventing and driving horses.
Spirited and nervous horses also benefit from the high proportion of slowly digestible carbohydrates. The energy is released slowly and the risk of excitability in nervous horses is not increased.
