Camelids such as llamas and alpacas, originally at home in South America, are now also widespread in our climes. Mainly kept as pack animals and suppliers of wool in their homeland, more and more hobby pet owners are also enjoying this species here. It is important to bear in mind when feeding them: As herbivores, camelids need high-quality crude fibre to maintain a healthy digestive system. This is where ProKamelid Basis from Agrobs comes into its own.
ProKamelid Basis is a grain- and molasses-free muesli for natural and species-appropriate camelid feeding. With its particularly high proportion of structured crude fibre, the feed from Agrobs promotes the health of the forestomach system. Saliva production is stimulated, the microbial flora of the stomach is kept in balance and ruminating and forestomach contraction are stimulated.
Ingredients rich in vital substances such as flowers, leaves, root vegetables, sunflower seeds, linseed and black cumin enhance the feed. ProKamelid Basis contains the bark of South American lapacho trees as a healthy addition, which is particularly palatable for the animals.
ProKamelid Basis is the ideal supplement to hay, forage straw and/or fresh meadow grass. It is also suitable as a healthy lure feed or treat and thus promotes bonding with humans. Due to its low starch and sugar content, ProKamelid Basis is suitable for daily feeding. We recommend the addition of a suitable mineral feed for a needs-based supply.

The daily recommended feed quantity depends on the quality and quantity of the basic feed (hay, straw, meadow growth), the performance (maintenance, growth, breeding, trekking...) and the health and nutritional condition of the animal.

- Old world camelids: 500 - 800 g/day
AGROBS® recommends: slow feeding. If necessary, when changing feed, for hasty eaters and old animals, animals with dental problems and with low water intake, we generally recommend moistening or soaking the feed.
