Herbal mixture no. 6 has a long history. The homeopathic practitioner Felix Mayer from Munich gave Dr Weyrauch the herbal mixture of his great-grandfather, who is said to have once been a veterinarian in Vienna. Alpenfrische provides herbs and spices with a very fine flavour that enrich the horse's diet with precisely those nutrients that are even less abundant in nature during the cold season than in summer. This also includes terpenes from special herbs.
Terpenes are secondary plant substances. Terpenes are fat-soluble and belong to the lipids in the broadest sense. They are primarily known for their antimicrobial effect. Many terpenes have a very pleasant odour. This is why they are also found as a component of essential oils.
