Today, this centuries-old realisation has also become increasingly important in conventional medicine, as it has been scientifically proven that the causes of many diseases can be traced back to problems in the digestive tract. For this reason, the majority of our mueslis and grain-free structured feeds are enriched with prebiotic Mühldorfer topinambu extract, which supports the development of healthy intestinal flora and thus promotes lasting vitality and horse health.
The pH value of our topinambu extract is reduced to below five in a complex, patented manufacturing process using targeted lactogenic fermentation. This natural biotechnology process produces two to three per cent native lactic acid in the extract, which provides a selective nutritional basis for beneficial intestinal bacteria. As a result, microorganisms with a health-promoting effect on the horse accumulate in the large intestine and there is less room for harmful microorganisms.
