Product information "Eggersmann Revital Cubes 25kg"
A high-quality, low-starch and low-sugar special feed without grain.
If the vet diagnoses diseases such as laminitis, PSSM, tying-up or Cushing's disease, a special feed is required. The causes of such diseases are metabolic blockages of varying degrees. To a large extent, these are due to an oversupply of carbohydrates from cereals such as oats, barley, maize or spelt and the associated obesity of affected horses. Carbohydrates are also generally the cause of such diseases during the grazing period. Contrary to the still widespread belief that too much protein is the cause of laminitis in the grazing season, fructans, which belong to the carbohydrate fraction, are among the triggers. In addition to sufficient daily exercise, a feed with the lowest possible starch and sugar content can be used to support the prevention and rehabilitation of these diseases. ReVital Cubes contain no grain. The required energy is obtained from high-quality, high-fat and easily digestible rice bran. The far more effective energy production from rice bran - in contrast to energy production from carbohydrates - also relieves the already overloaded metabolism. Energy that cannot be used by the horse, which develops in the large intestine when metabolising grain due to unwelcome excess starch, is not produced when feeding rice bran. A significantly lower amount of feed must therefore be supplied in order to provide the animal with the same amount of digestible energy. Feeding high-quality fats also stimulates the burning of the body's own fat deposits to a far greater extent than feeding grain. The horse thus gains more energy overall, including from body reserves, and obesity is prevented. This concentrated energy is provided by the fat-containing rice bran, which is also very well accepted in the feed trough. Used as the sole cot feed, the amount of feed can therefore be significantly reduced with ReVital Cubes. Rice bran is also characterised by a low but high-quality protein content, which is supplemented by many essential amino acids in ReVital Cubes. The high levels of vitamins and minerals in ReVital Cubes are optimised for low feed quantities and the history of affected horses. A specially balanced herbal preparation also ensures that metabolic processes are harmonised.

During light work, horses and ponies are given approx. 200 g per 100 kg body weight per day with sufficient good, preferably over-harvested hay.
Horses that can be worked again without restriction after the rehabilitation phase may need to be fed up to 300 g per 100 kg body weight per day to provide sufficient energy. However, this ration adjustment should only be made if the horse no longer has any clearly visible body fat reserves.
The addition of a high-quality mineral feed is recommended for lower feeding quantities. Pelleted feed should always be soaked for horses with dental problems, horses that eat hastily or old horses.
