It is not for nothing that we speak of the 5 hearts of the horse. The actual heart of the horse is supported by the blood pumping effect of the hoof. The frog makes a significant contribution to this. When the hoof moves up and down, the hoof supplies the lower extremities in particular, such as tendons, ligaments and the hoof pulley apparatus, with blood and nutrients. If this blood pumping effect is disrupted by thrush, this can lead to increased damage. This is why you should take extra time to care for the frog.
Thrush is caused by anaerobic bacteria, which do good things in the gut, but decompose the hoof horn during excretion and contact. A strong alkaline solution develops in the climate of the box, which damages the hoof horn, especially in the frog area.
For intensive frog care: drip the frog conditioner onto dry hooves once a week.
Use approx. 2 times a week on damp hooves. The care product can be spread over the frog, sole or frog edge with a soft cloth.
