Foal milk to compensate for a lack of milk
Original Höveler Foal Milk provides a source of energy and nutrients in the event of a milk shortage or the loss of the dam.
The ingredients in Original Höveler Foal Milk meet the requirements of suckling foals in terms of energy, protein, minerals and vitamins. Particular care has been taken in selecting the protein sources used. A conscious decision was therefore made to avoid using cheaper protein sources, opting instead for high-quality skimmed milk and whey powder.
Thanks to its balanced overall formulation, Original Höveler Foal Milk can, if required, serve as the sole substitute for mare’s milk during the first few weeks after birth, or act as an additional source of nutrition in the event of insufficient milk production by the dam. However, for the foal’s initial immunisation in the first few hours after birth, it is necessary to administer colostrum from a foster mare or preserved colostrum and/or to have gamma globulins administered by a vet.

The administration of colostrum in the first few hours of life after birth is vital.

In addition to the feed, Höveler terabb-FS 16 or Höveler Foal Muesli should be offered from the 2nd week of life. The number of feedings per day depends on the foal’s individual condition and age. From the 6th week of life onwards, the amount of foal milk given depends on the intake of foal muesli/foal pellets.

Mit seiner Erfindung des "Reformhafers" durchbrach Arnold Höveler den konservativen Heu-Hafer-Fütterungstrend mit dem ersten patentierten Pferdefutter in Müsliform, sozusagen das Ur-Müsli. Die Philosophie des Gründers, sein Pferdefutterprogramm stets nach neuesten wissenschaftlichen Erkenntnissen über die Nahrungsbedürfnisse des Pferdes zusammenzustellen, wurde in den vergangenen über 100 Jahren konsequent beibehalten und von den Fütterungsexperten der Gegenwart fortgeschrieben.
