Keralit frog liquide is a liquid, well-adhering frog care solution that is especially suitable for the problem areas of the frog and the white line. It counteracts horn decomposition processes and at the same time cares for and regenerates damaged, decomposed horn. Keralit Strahl-Liquide is particularly suitable for softened and foul-smelling central and lateral frog furrows caused by thrush.
Keralit Strahl-Liquide prevents horn damage by neutralising harmful influences from the stable litter (ammonia) and keeping away micro-organisms that are significantly involved in horn decomposition. The frog horn becomes firmer after just 3 to 4 days of application and the frog furrows dry out. There are many thrush products on the market that contain ingredients such as copper sulphate, iodoform or antibiotics. Many ingredients do not have a sufficient spectrum of action for thrush to achieve long-term health of the horse's frog.
It is important to clean the frog furrows thoroughly but dry before application (i.e. do not wash). A slightly damp hoof is unproblematic. For permanently wet hooves, we recommend Keralit Undercover.
It is best to place a swab or a small cloth over a wooden mouth spatula (blunt) and wipe the frog furrows several times. Keep changing the cloths. Then apply a few drops of Keralit Strahl-Liquide to the frog furrows using the dosing tip. Then carefully widen the frog furrows with the spatula so that the solution can also flow into the lowest pockets.
The application should be carried out daily for approx. 3 to 4 days, then at increasing intervals. A weekly application is generally sufficient for prevention. Good stable hygiene must be ensured in all cases.
