Product information "St Hippolyt Equigard Müsli 20kg"
St. Hippolyt Equigard Muesli is a grain-free structured muesli for light-fed or overweight horses that need to be fed a low-starch, low-sugar diet. A clear separation between energy and vital substance requirements must be taken into account when feeding light-fed horses in particular. A valuable feed concept is necessary if carbohydrate metabolism disorders are already present or if they are to be prevented: Grain-free, but rich in vital substances!
For a grain-free diet:
Equigard was developed for overweight and light-fed horses that have an increased risk of metabolic disorders or need to be fed a diet low in sugar and starch.
Less starch - more health:
In the case of metabolic problems, non-structured carbohydrates such as starch and sugar should be reduced in the total feed ration, as scientific studies have shown. Compared to oats, Equigard contains around 80% less starch and sugar and is therefore very suitable as a low-energy diet for horses at risk or already affected.
Feeding the metabolism:
Of particular importance for stabilising insulin function, carbohydrate and fat metabolism are vital substances such as zinc, copper, manganese, selenium, omega-3 fatty acids, lecithin and antioxidants such as vitamin E and fruit flavonoids.
St. Hippolyt recommendation:Equigard is the ideal "standing feed" during convalescence.

As a supplement to the basic feed supply of roughage and/or pasture grass. From a quantity of approx. 200-350 g per 100 kg body weight and day, no additional mineral feed is necessary. The total amount should be distributed over several rations. For lower doses or supply deficits, St. Hippolyt recommends the addition of Glucogard or MicroVital. If there is an increased energy requirement (for performance horses), combine with Struktur-Energetikum and vegetable oils.
1 litre corresponds to approx. 400 g Equigard Muesli
