It has only been recognised for a few years that the intestinal microbiome, i.e. the entirety of the microorganisms colonising the digestive tract, is decisive for the health and well-being of an organism. Not only digestive disorders directly related to the gut microbiome, such as faecal water, diarrhoea, flatulence, etc., but also metabolic diseases, skin problems, nervousness and stress, susceptibility to infections and a weakened immune system are linked to dysbiosis of the microbial population in the gut.
The intestinal microbiome urgently needs specific nutrients and functional substances for regeneration, which in turn has a positive effect on the health and well-being of the entire body.
A BAR THAT PACKS A PUNCH
Lactofermented rice bran is a unique probiotic ingredient. The natural microbiome of rice bran contains cultures that are also part of the physiological microbial population of the horse's intestines. A special fermentation process is used to potentiate the microbial populations so that the lactofermented, freeze-dried rice bran is a highly concentrated, natural, gut microbiome-promoting component.
Furthermore, functional nucleotides support the regeneration of the gastrointestinal mucosa and intestinal villi. Specific herbs and spices provide secondary plant substances to stabilise digestion. In addition to lacto-fermented rice bran, other pre- and probiotics such as yeast cultures nourish and promote a physiological intestinal microbiome. Vegetable feed charcoal binds harmful substances in the intestine, prevents their absorption and also provides prebiotic properties.
The SemiColon - Gut Microbiome Bar is grain-free and has a very low starch and sugar content, making it suitable for all types of horses.
