To enhance the roughage ration and for feeding horses with dental problems
GlyxWiese® Senior Fibre ensures that even horses which can no longer consume longer fibres receive a roughage intake tailored to their needs. The chopped texture makes it easier for horses to consume roughage whilst maintaining the same level of saliva production, thereby significantly increasing the total amount they can consume. This is particularly recommended when horses are unable to consume sufficient hay due to jaw or dental problems. GlyxWiese® Senior Fibre can be fed either dry or soaked in water. Introduce gradually.
To meet the necessary roughage requirements in horses with dental or chewing problems, 1.2–1.5 kg of GlyxWiese® Senior Fibre per 100 kg of body weight should be fed daily; this helps to prevent weight loss.
GlyxWiese® Senior Fibre is suitable as an alternative to roughage or to enhance the quality of hay or haylage, as well as a substitute for feed in the trough for horses that should be given little or no grain. For large horses, positive effects on digestion and nutritional status can be observed from as little as 2 kg per day.

For older horses, fast eaters or horses with dental, chewing or swallowing problems, we recommend mixing muesli with water or switching from muesli to pelleted feed, soaking this in sufficient water and feeding it as a mash.
