Not all black cumin seeds are the same. Starhorse black cumin seeds are exclusively so-called "real black cumin seeds" of the Nigella sativa variety, which come directly from the cultivation areas in the Nubian desert (southern Egypt). In this area, the plants are exposed to particularly high levels of sunlight, which means that the seeds contain very little water when they are harvested. This distinguishes Starhorse black cumin seeds from conventional black cumin seeds in terms of quality and effect and guarantees the highest nutrient density of all commercially available black cumin seeds.

Des Weiteren können durch Keimbelastung, sowie durch die enthaltenen toxischen (giftigen) Stoffe, wie z.B. Schwermetalle und Umweltgifte, gesundheitliche Probleme auftreten.
